Kababchi Grill was first opened in San Antonio in the spring of 2003.
Kababchi Grill was opened in the fall of 2016 next to its’ sister café, Shisha Café, established in 2003. We provide Middle Eastern food with an emphasis on Iraqi flavor. Iraqi flavor is very unique due to the geographical location of Iraq; therefore we have Arabic, Turkish, and Persian influence on our dishes.
This restaurant is a much more formal dining experience and provides a wonderful atmosphere for eating lunch and dinner. You may also enjoy watching our kitchen crew grill your food on the charcoal grill in the window as you walk into the restaurant.
The concept of Kababchi Grill stems from the Arabic word – Kababchi meaning the master of grilled kabab. We prepare a variety of kababs all grilled to perfection the Iraqi way:
- Fresh ground beef kabab
- Cubed beef tikka
- Ground chicken kabab
- Cubed chicken tikka
- Whole chicken
- Lamb chops
- Whole fish
In addition to our grilled meats, we offer a variety of salads and appetizer dips that are Middle Eastern but are uniquely Iraqi in technique and taste. We also offer hot Iraqi tea (Iraqi Chai), which is black tea steeped in cardamom and Iraqi coconut fudge (Halawa Dihiniyya).
